To Grant:

You have made me so proud and watching you grow brings a joy that I could have never imagined. I never want to do anything without you and now that I have you each day is a new adventure to learn. Your smile and knowledge is inspiring and the love I feel for you moves my soul. Thank you for being in my life, young one. I know that you will travel a blessed and beautiful journey seizing each moment with your caring, curiosity, vibrance and vigor.

Love Always and Forever,

1st Birthday Party

On Saturday our family and friends gathered at the park to celebrate Grant's first birthday. Here is Grant with his bubble lawnmower he received from the Emmertsons - his favorite Alabama cousins. He loves to motor around.
Party Time!!The King musing about the events of the day.
New Strider running bike! He'll be crusin' the trails in no time.

Yummy Birthday cake! (Also fun to squish in hands.)

Our family portrait. Almost seems like we are at the beach! All in all it was a slammin' Luau birthday party!

Ever had an idea that seemed great until you said it out loud?

After some planning and though concerning GMC's first Birthday party I concluded to have a Luau party at the park. Since this is my first time planning a one-year olds birthday party I have considered many different possibilities for the event.
Tonight I had, what I thought to be a genius idea, concerning entertainment. I asked my sister if she knew anyone who could Hula dance. "Well...I'm sure I do..maybe Trish. But Amanda that's weird" she responded. We both burst out laughing! It was just one of those ideas that seemed great until I said it out loud. Next year, balloon animals.

July 4

My oh my the summers going by so quick! The 4th of July came and went in a flash. Josh was in the Park City Parade on the Spur float, so Grant, some friends and I watched from the front window of 350. Grant ate a red white & blue strawberry and looked very presidential despite his purple face.
